Did you know?

 Ladakh is the highest plateau of the Kashmir Valley and is the highest settlement in India, with much of it being more than 3,000 meters above the sea level.

Ladakh is arid but home to 225 species of birds such as finches, robins, redstarts and Hoopoe.

  The Pangong Lake is located at 4350 meters above the sea level and is world’s highest salt water lake.

After Buddhism the second most dominant religion in Ladakh is Islam.

  Butter tea is a cuisine specialty of Ladakh, which is made of brewed Tibetan tea leaf into which milk, yak butter and salt is added.

In our tour we shall cover nearly all the places of the traveller’s interest that include Leh, Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Alchi Village, Hemis, Shey and Thiksey. You shall also have an option of an exciting river rafting session on the Indus River.

Day 01

 Arrive at Leh airport in the morning. Upon arrival the group shall be accommodated at a hotel. This shall be an easy day for relaxation and acclimatization. We shall visit places of interest in and around Leh town that include Sankar Gompa, Leh Palace and Leh Mosque. Afternoon shall be at leisure whereby we shall take you for a walk through the streets of Leh. Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 02

Half a day excursion to Alchi village, Spituk and Likir Gompa. Alchi would give a good feel of Ladakhi village life and you will also find some good collection of Indo-Tibetan art work here. You can also choose to do a River Rafting Session (Optional) on the Indus river this day. Return to Leh by late afternoon. Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 03

This day we shall take the group for a day trip to the spectacular Pangong Lake. On the way back we shall visit Thiksey monastery, Shey Palace and Hemis monastery. Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 04

After early breakfast we shall proceed for a visit to Nubra Valley (Approx. 120 k.m. / 8 hour drive). On the way we shall have a brief halt at Khardung- La, the highest motor able pass in the world. We shall arrive at Diskit– the headquarter of Nubra Valley by late afternoon. Nubra valley separates Ladakh from Karakoram and is one of the remotest areas of Ladakh. The valley has the confluence of Shyok and Siachen rivers. Upon arrival we shall settle down at a camp, located amidst spectacular surroundings. After some rest we shall visit the sand dunes of Hundar where you shall see the double humped Bactrian camels. You can even have a short camel ride here. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in comfortable tents at Nubra valley near Diskit.

Day 05

After breakfast we shall take the group for visit to the quaint and serene Diskit monastery. Perched atop a hill, this monastery was built in 1420 A.D and offers beautiful view of surrounding landscape. Depart by noon for Leh via Khardung-la. Arrive at Leh by late evening and settle down at the hotel. Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 06

 The group shall be dropped at Leh airport in the morning. Depart for Delhi / Bangalore / Chennai / Mumbai. Tour ends.

Accommodation on twin sharing basis in hotels and tents as per the itinerary in Leh and Nubra Valley

Breakfast & dinner during stay at Leh (4 nights) and Nubra Valley (1 night)

All ground transportation by non –air – conditioned vehicle

Please Note:

While we shall try our best to adhere to the itinerary, should there be any change necessitated due to unforeseen contingencies where addition expense is involved due to route change or over stay the extra cost shall have to be borne by the individual on the actual cost basis

All participants are to carry a valid official ID proof for entry permit which could either be the Passport or Voter’s Card or Adhaar Card

 You are expected to possess a proof of identity which could be your Passport OR Voter’s ID Card OR Adhaar Card & 3 passport size photographs for processing entry formalities into Bhutan

For child/student 17 years and below accompanying their parents be allowed to travel in Birth Certificates. Incase if school going kids, school ID should be shown as well

 Bhutan recently started Biometric system at the immigration check points where all the guests have to give finger prints

Taking pictures inside the altars of the Dzongs (fortress), temples and monasteries is strictly prohibited. Get permission before you take the pictures of the people and religious items

Take off your hats in front of the Dzongs, temples and national flags

Visitors should be properly dressed with long sleeves shirts and pants to visit Dzongs, temples, monasteries, schools and any government institutions

Always walk clockwise while crossing the Dzongs, temples, monasteries, prayer flags or religious artifacts

Smoking in public places is not allowed in Bhutan. (Without custom clearance do not carry any type of Tobacco

Buying of antiques from Bhutan is strictly monitored by the custom at the check points

Rates are as per the itinerary and no vehicle will be given on disposal

Cancellation Policy:

Registration amount would be 25% of the total cost of a trip which will be non-refundable

In case of cancellation made between 5-10 days from departure date, 50% of the total amount would be refundable

In case of cancellation made within 4 days from the date of departure, no refund shall be admissible

If The Explorers has to cancel for any reason, 100% of tour price will be refunded
