Chanderi Pinnacle

On the way from Karjat to Kalyan, on the Mumbai - Pune road, on the right bank of Badlapur there are peaks like Nakhind, Chanderi, Mhasamal, Navri, Boi, Peb, Matheran. A tremendous cone raises its head in these hills, "Chanderi". Badlapur – Between Badlapur – Karjat near Vangani road station is a village named Chincholi. From here starts the route to Chanderi. Dense trees, grasshoppers, pavements, and murmurs, which are located at the foot of Chanderi, are a challenge in Sahyadri. This fort is situated on the border of Tamasai village, which attracts the climbers.

Trivia

  • The cave on the fort has recently seen the rest of the walls in a fall.
  • This is the same mark of the fort.
  • In May 1656, when Shivaji Maharaj took all the territory up to Kalyan, Bhiwandi, Rāiī, this fort was in possession of Maratha.
  • It seems as if there is a military outpost, not a fort, because of its short expanses, low water storage, lack of construction, limited access to people, very difficult means of access.
